20 Second Showdown
20 Second Showdown

Inventive 3D design, engineering and tooling

Challenge
To find a low price 20 second timing mechanism with both visual and sound effects, so two teams can see and hear how much time is left.

Issue
There was nothing available off the shelf. An electronic timer with programming was considered, but deemed too expensive with lights and sounds.

Solution
Working with our inventive engineering partners, we created a bespoke mechanical timer with patented features, unlike any other timer in the marketplace. This device is a clever, stand out feature of the game, and like the success of 5 second Rule, a recognisable timer helps market the product.

Result
2019 Second Showdown shortlisted for best party game at UK Games Expo.

Speed to Market

Brief
To deliver a brand new fully manufactured game, from initial concept presentation to on the shelf availability, in UK and US markets within 6 months.

Issues
- No tooling existed.
- Required an electronic timer with programming
- Required Licensor approval
- Needed to produce 20k units, including QC and full lab test to ship before Chinese New Year 2019 (early Feb)

Solution
By using GW Development, our teams in both UK and HK were able to turn an initial games concept into a fully manufactured and approved reality, successfully hitting the shelves within the tightest timescales.

The Chameleon
The Chameleon

The Chameleon Inventive and cost effective packaging that stands out in the marketplace.

Challenge
To develop a bold box that includes The Chameleon name ‘disappearing’ on the pack, essentially mimicking the spirit of the game, to blend in.

Issue
How to create the desired box effect within budget? Options such as lenticular were discounted as too expensive.

Solution
Use of a special print based optical illusion at no added cost. The logo would be visible from a distance and disappear as you pick up the box. Adding a soft texture effect to the box would also increase customer engagement.

Result
2017 The Chameleon wins best party game at UK Games Expo.
